newbie, how to do etching, what kind of pen?

Hello!
So how do I get the copper traces on the PC board CHEAP, using the etching
technique, here in Germany?
I think www.conrad.de is the best one for me anyways.
What kind of "pen" do you use / or not a pen and "print" it, but how?
I just don't understand that part. Thanks for all the other hints, I already
spend 3 hours
reading articles... very informative.
