I want a Midi/CV converter with at least 4 voice polyphony,
all the modes of the old Emu / Oberheim circuit plus velocity
and aftertouch, and all that with dedicated front panel switches.
(instead of menues, obscure "learning modes" and whatever.)
Why does nobody build something like that ??
Other key assign modes like Unison/Share or the CS-synths'
algorithm would be nice, too. But the really crucial point
is immediate acess with dedicated switches, flicking a switch
to change from rotate to reassign during the performance, or
taking out 2 of 4 voices for a solo and switching them back
in in a second afterwards.
Will it ever happen ? I *can* help myself with the original
Obie circuit, but unfortunately without velocity. Why is it
an either-or: (Modern controlles and shitty user interface)
XOR (good old fashioned switches and bad old fashioned
limitations) ??
Ha, I had to say this once. (First time this year at least.)
Why do the manufacturers not react ? Am I the only one who
wants that ??
I don't even need a box (and surely no 1/8" jacks), but *please*
make the ports available for dedicated switches.
Sorry for the crosspost to synth-diy. The midi interface topic
just came up on MOTM list, and I have not yet given up hope
to see it happen one day.
