   Um, in the case of the ASM-1 style VCO, the cap is being discharged 
into the op-amp's input which is more or less virtual ground.  Who knows 
what is going on when it has to sink the current but I doubt that any 
sort of grounding plan will help any.

   No, right discharge path!  I would think that possibly any input 
offset voltage might be seen on the output, but in the case of most 
op-amps it'll be pretty neglibile!
   Am I off?  It's been too long since I had op-amp theory!
