   I've used the 466 for some time in my VCO projects and they are pretty 
good.  My biggest problem with them tends to be that they often don't 
reset the VCO all the way to zero (varies from one to the next) unless you 
drive them pretty hard.  That and they tend to be _really_ too expensive 
(okay, so I am a _little_ cheap) for my liking for not working as well as 
other types of FETs.
   My next VCO run will most likely switch to BS170 which has much better 
specs than the 466 but requires opposite gate control and is only $0.45 
each.  Probably an even better type would be an MPF6660 which has lower 
on resistance and faster switching time, but I haven't played with it, yet!
   Of course there's always MOSFETs...maybe someone has a direct drop in 
replacement for a 466?  I'd love to know!
