Seems that what works for one may not work for another.
Cubase and logic don't cut it for you and arrangement on rebirth seems
akward to me...
(I hated editing the 303 in real live let alone on a pc screen)

If you mean realtime "live" mixing and arrangeing I agree with you,
the big name seq. are not made for that.
Basically that is why I am working on the StepOne.
It is not another groove box, the StepOne is more like an instrument that
you have to play.
You play the StepOne by creating and arranging midi loops in real time.
For recording songs the way to go is to record the "preformance" in to CB or
PT...
So this may still not be the one stop shopping option youre looking for.
