I have used Cubase VST/24 in the past but I switched to Logic Audio Platinum. In
my opinion, Logic is much more advanced, configurable, and customizable. It has
a steeper learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, Logic is much more
user friendly and will let you do just about anything you want. It seems Cubase
is much more confined.
For instance, one of my favorite features is that Logic lets you set up "window
sets" where you can toggle back and forth between any sets of windows you
define. For instance you can choose set 1 to be a mixer window and transport
controls, set 2 to be a midi editor window, set 3 to be a waveform editor
window, and so forth. I think you can have up to 99 sets. It is very handy and I
couldn't live without it. In other sequencers you just end up with a mess of
different windows overlapping everywhere.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Logic is, no pun intended, more logical
(once you get used to how it works).
