HP to PCB & PNL

I just spent the last 30 minuets disassembling a working HP DeskJet
I picked up at the thrift for $10 (minus the power supply). These
things keep popping up really cheep and I've been thinking of a
pcb printer ever sense we talked about using a plotter with easytraks.

The point being ... I think it can be done. The way the head moves
on the assembly it pretty straight forward. I think with a few mods
to the case and adding a micro adjuster ( spring & wing-nut) on each
side this will work and might even print panels!!

The problem is moving the material through the printer. I'm thinking
some sort of large rubber belt about the thickness of a inner-tube
using the printer motor that pulls the paper as a drive. A flat table and
a free wheel on the back ( maybe another printer mech..;-) I
suppose I'll have to come up with pinch rollers too but I still think
it will work. Has anyone thought/tried this?

Tom
