BTW. I dreamed up a curcuit leaning towards the simple side of things which
will frequency double a sawtooth waveform. You can find it on my webpages

It basically builds on this signal processing flow:

            *---> comparator --*
Saw input --*                 (+)--> gain --> 2x Saw out
            *------------------*

Where the summation point also takes care of the necessary DC offset
correction. The comparator swaps at midpoint and the summation of the
comparator and the original saw is done so that when the saw raises above
modpoint will the comparator output fall, this then results in the sum to
fall and thus the modpoint translate to a new reset point so to speak.

As I see this schematic I feel that I could probably make it work with less
components and probably make it better in the process. Anyway, I think that
given the basic processing flow many diffrent variations with various success
could be generated.
