The guitarists' problem

Howdy folks.

I play guitar.  I play synth guitar.  I want to run my synth through my 
guitar amp.  I'm sure there must be some way to equalize the signal to 
flatten the freq. response of my amp.  Some kind of network?  If I 
understand correctly, there is a network inside audio amps/receivers that 
compensates for the weird eq of vinyl.  Any similarities to this problem?
