Sorry, no can do. When you fret the string you contact (short) two voltage
sources. Better
to put resistors across the frets, drive the side nearest the bridge with a
constant current
source, and then ground the strings. I'll work... monophonic only. Cannot work
as a polly.. so solly!

The strings go (lets say) Y axis, the frets go X axis... push nore than one
adjacent string
and you have a big metal matrix. Cannot say which is the true position.

I'd love proof that I'm wrong here :^(
