808 trigger technique?

Nearly finished the midi trigger convertor off the clutter site with 
intentions of installing it in a 808. Does anyone know more than I about the 
internal workings of the 808? Is instalation as easy as joining the trigger 
o/p's of the convertor to the trigger lines inside the 808? Is the 808 ttl 
compatible? Finally would any harm resault to the processor/memory if i did 
join the outputs straight up? Normally I would just give it a go, but as 
it's no my 808 im slightly more hesitant!
