Anything will work..1n914.. 1n4148. The exact part # in MAD1108 this
is a 8 diode array and offers improved performance for a price. You need
2 so that's about $5.00 opposed to 12 signal diodes ...oh say $0.72. Your
mileage may vary.

Is it worth it to use 1108's? It's hard to say, for me no. Generally if taken
from the same tape the signal diodes available these days are good enough
for me. But if price is not an object you may want the little extra the 1108's 
offer.
