Hi Scott and all,
A friend of mine has all kinds of older/inexpensive B & K scopes in his
audio repair shop and they seem to have been good, long term, basic
performers. That doesn't necessarily say anything about the newest
ones. The Hitachi V212 (I think that's the model, the # is at least
right) is similar in features and can still be found for $399.00 USD in
some places. I bought one of those new in '88 and it's still on the
bench doing fine. Don't forget the $300 30MHz dual trace job at Circuit
Specialists - don't have any first hand experience with these though.
"Manufactured by leading OEM manufacturer..." they say.
None of these are in the league of a Tek 465 or similar... however being
new there (should be) is less of a gamble factor.
Enjoy,
Buck
