Protoboard... one of those pluggy - holey things... experimenter's
breadboard...?
Its not you... why should a circuit like that work on a protoboard... Human
capacitance
is probably only 5-20pF (I haven't seen the circuit... maybe its just skin
resistance...but..)
With careful layout on a real board it might work. I haven't tried the PAiA
circuit. I'm sure
you can make the touch switch work... whether its worth all the circuit you need
is another story.
