On the one key for each 8 step sequence idea..  
My JP8000 has this incorporated into its arpeggiator.  RPS lets you program 
each key to playback whatever sequence of note syou play and it quantizes 
too.  Im not sure what the max number of notes per key is, but it does come 
in handy when you want a repetitive bassline and two hands free to play a 
lead line and tweak it out with the other..
aaaah, I love my JP8k
