free 'scopes for audio signals

It's possible to use the Scorpion plugin (for cubase VST) as a 'scope for 
audio signals - its designed for that purpose - I used it to monitor 
waveshapes while adjusting trimmers. On this page:

there is a software oscilloscope that works with a Soundblaster compatible 
soundcard.

Also try a search for "minituner.zip". This can help you tune your VCOs.
