Reminds me on the last time I lost a 3140. I had a tube oscillator circuit
hooked to the expo convertor of one of my VCO3 boards. Unfortunately one of
the boards outputs became shorted to +75V.
mazingly the opamp driving that output and all others survived,
while the 3140 in the full wave rectifier was killed.

Can't remember losing a CA3140 or a 40xx to static, rather with shorts.
Might just be that I never realize, when they still perform degraded.
