You are right!
You remind me of an AKG filter design in one of their studio delays.
It is a 10th order antialiasing filter with 20kHz filter frequency.
The little PCB has only very little caps on the supply. Without putting 10uF C's
near to the supply pins of the little filter module the filter resonates like hell.
