There was not quite enough interest to run panels for the BassAce. I may
be able to do something in the future but until sales increase...no panels.
That's the bad news. The good news is I made some major design changes
to the size of the pcboard and will be able to sell it at a much lower price.
So maybe panels sooner than later?? I revamped the EGs and made some
other very nice changes.
What changed? Well..the initial idea was to mount all controls/jacks/etc..
to the board so there would be no wire-flying. Once I abandoned that
concept it was easy to reduce the size by at least half. I grouped and
labeled all connection pads. For example if a pot is to be connected there
are 3 pads labeled 1-2-3 in a box with a text label for the function. This
way it's fairly easy to use ribbon-cable and that keeps it nice and neat.
Although it's still flying-wires.....
I am out of vco4s and vcf2s so I'm running a mini-CAM with the BassAce.
This includes the Trevor Page/Tomg RX-CV midi-interface, the vco4e
(enhanced), the vcf12a (2040 thing), the vc-r-adsr, and the vcf2d
(vcf2e without the power-supply/eg). These are all double sided silk-
screened...bla bla bla....
Ohhh...One thing that is new is my wife has decided to start checking
my boards!!! I think her exact words were "You are brilliant darling
but you're sloppy sometimes". This is really good because she has an
incredible eye for details...it's really incredible trust me on that
one....;-)
We are now in the 21 day pause between the time I turn it over and
delivery. I'll be putting up support files while we wait. I'll ask for
orders next week when I have the final prices. If you would like to
express interest I will be happy to reply and/or supply a few details.
BassAce - Midi bass synth - 303 kinda like thing
VCO4e - Enhanced saw/sq/tri/sine vco
VCF12a - 4P s&k 2040 sounding thing
VCF2f - no lfo/ps CAM version - transistor ladder
RX-CV - pic midi-interface KCV,PB-CV,GATE,SLIDE,MOD
CAM sized midi to CV converter.
VC-R-ADSR/LFO - Voltage controlled adsr w/rate (response)
What does that mean? Well...you can set a envelope and then change
the overall response time with one control. It also works in lfo
mode to set the frequency. That means you can set up some sort
of strange attack/decay and then change the freq of the lfo without
changing the envelope.
More soon....CAM2 and MadMouse2 are about 45 days away!
