    I just purchased 100 of these little suckers from Newark (it is my favorite
part).  I talked to the people at Intersil and they say that yes, this is an active
part.  Digikey seems to have dropped it, probably because it is not a real big
mover.  It is not a big deal to purchase parts from some of the more mainstream
distributors.  Doing it over the internet seems to make it much easier.
