OT: Hacking line inputs into old boom boxes

  As I have no great need for

Kevin, make a probe from a 50K resistor & 1mfd cap in series.
Connect to centre of sheilded wire.
And connect another wire from one side of the battery to sheild.
Now pick your way around the gear with this connected to an amp,
working back from the audio output, & see how far back along the audio tree
you get.

On some boomboxes, the volume control is a place to put audio in.
Other times the audio control generates DC going to a stereo VCA,
which has its own aplications for emusic ;-)

The other approach is just to hold a resistor & keep poking away, relying on
injecting enough 60Hz hum as an audio input & go for the spot that sounds best.
