The 1495 is a Motorola 4 quadrant multiplier, intended for applications
going to DC.
The 1496 is similar, but not identical. You often find it in RF applications
as a balanced modulator. You can build an audio ring modulator with it too.
The 1495 is discontinued. Plenty of people still make the 1496.
