envelope follower question

A env.follower outputs a CV signal that
follows the env the audio signal on its input.
So audio input and CV output.
The env.follower only exstracts a control signal form the input.
You can use the CV signal to control a VCA or VCF unit,
these then can transform audio signals for u.
The name env.follower is somtimes used for a FX box
that holds a env.follower and a VCF and/or VCA.
(like electroharmonics mrQ) this may have confused you.
Hope this helps
Cheers Theo
