Really?  Do you mean the "synth" waveforms in the D50?  How do you know this? 
 The owner's manual certainly doesn't mention it!

Also, have you tried that square + sine > ring mod trick?  Do you use a 
square and sine that are the same phase and frequency?  What happens if you 
modulate the pulse width?
