Personally I wouldn,t risk it.. If it was working + 15 before and isnt now 
I'd say it's a fair guess something has gone awry [like the internal series 
pass transistor going short?].. Seeing as they're only about$1 each I'd 
replace it... fancy synth chips tend to be much more expensive..
