New Midi products

At Torbjörn's urging I have been working on the idea of a midi-note
to gate converter. Well I'm pleased to say I can do it.  I think a
48 or 66 note converter would be enough.  Any thoughts on this?
Would a variety of output boards be a good idea. Say one with
triacs, one with relays or opto-isolators?

An added plus is I can also do a midi 808 a-like analog drum
machine sort of thing. I'm thinking 8 drum oscillators and 4 cymbals.
I don't want to make too big. Any input on this one?
