old sound chips

I had started working on a PIC midi->8910/8912 converter a while back. I
hadn't gotten much further than designing a schematic (well, a pcb since I was
using PIA). One of the issues I hadn't addressed was how to program the thing.
I think the ideal interface would have knobs/switches/other fiddly bits but
getting that and midi out of a 16F84 would be a bit of a challenge.
Anyway, when I started working on this, I found a few resources on the net.
But the best thing I could find was the Radio Shack datasheet.
