Atari 2600 sound chip

I used to own an 800XL... what a terrific machine! Anyway, the video function in the
Atari computers were handled by the CTIA/GTIA (depends on the model, only 400/800
machines had the CTIA). The sound was handled by POKEY, as was the A/D for the pot
ports and some other IO stuff.
In the 2600, one chip (TIA/Stella) handled video, audio, and IO.
