Atari 2600 sound chip

Hi list,

I recall some discussion a while back on the list regarding the Atari 2600
games console and the sound chip that it uses (no, I'm not getting confused
with the Arp synth ;-) ). I found one of these machines at the back of my
shed somewhere and wondered if the sound IC inside it could be put to good
use. I've no doubt someone has already done this. Maybe a waveform gen or
something?
