Looks to me like you are in the right track.
32uS is exactly what you need.
make sure you are sending:
  - 1 Start bit (value=0)
  - 8 Data bits (lsb to msb)
  - 2 stop bits (value=1)

I think its what you are looking for.

There are several other interesting articles there too.
The articles are written for the Atmel AVR series uCs but I am sure you can
apply the same theory of operation to your Scenix CPU.
