I considered using an 8515 or even mega to do some DSP stuff.

open most new phones and theres an atmel flash micro of one sort or anotehr
in there.
Atmel are currently building 2 new plants to increase production.

Q4 of 2000 is when they expect the factorys to start
so Q1 2001 is when you can expect the supplies to be better.

but you still can get 8515/2313/1200s without much of a problem in DIP
format.
