Uninformed Pawn Shop owners (was: A word of warning!)

It is also good to know how to 'know more' than the guy in the shop...  like 
knowing how to make a completely functional device crackle coz the leads are 
faulty etc... I remember looking at HR16s in a shop - the guy had 2 of them 
.. one was really stuffed on the keyboard - obviously not going, but I knew 
and he didn't that once you take the top off it's a 10 minute fix.. so I 
offer him $50 for it.. he wanted $200. So he refuses my offer but says I 
could buy the other [essentially working one] for $100... so I got a 1/2 
price drum machine because the one next to it was faulty.. how about that 
eh?
