simple LFO question

Hi,
I'll try again as perhaps my first question was phrased too
confusingly.
What I'm looking for is a circuit for a relative beginner in SS
electronics to build (or maybe a kit) to provide LFO modulation via a
+-5V. input for a delay circuit using a SAD4096. I can make good
circuit boards from art but am not good enough to lay out complex
circuit boards myself.
I could buy one of the LFO kits from MOTD or Blacet or possibly the
9710 from Paia but they seem like overkill for a simple application
like this... although they would probably work better. I haven't
decided if I want to commit to building an entire modular yet either -
which of course would make that decision easier.
I bought this delay design as a chip kit from Henry Thomas who wrote
in the notes that Craig Anderton had an artcle written in 1982 about
providing hyper-trangular modulation for things like delays (because
sine and triangal modulation wasn't as good), but I
have been unable to locate the article.
Any suggestions welcome!
Kiira
