Flux removal question

Flux removers such as 1,1,1 trichloroethane etc may damage some plastics..
possibly damage caps, not really sure, but most other parts should be ok.,.
I use methylated spirits to dissolve solder flux - a bit on a cloth rubbed
on the board dissolves it off quite well, and wont damage any parts. At any
rate, I dont think it is really necessary to remove it except in instances
of high voltage circuitry, or very high impedance points such as the summing
node of a very high gain op amp stage, or sample&hold circuit where leakage
has significant effect..
