Two switch per key keyboards

I'm attempting to modify a one-switch per key to be a two switch per key. I
do think That I'll be able to do it with the keyboard subassembly I
currently have, but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure what the bar
(which carries the voltage that the keys connect the resistor chain to when
pressed) was made of. I'd assume copper, but I want to be sure. Also, does
anyone know where to get this material.
