I love taking obscure recordings (not necessarily "music") and 
playing with them, but that's the whole point--obscurity. It leads to 
new things.

This sort of thing makes even a cynical and blasphemous sort like 
myself turn pale. I haven't heard this (and don't want to), but I 
have heard the recent offerings from Puff Daddy [cringe]. I'd like to 
thank Pat for putting it into words that people who'll say I "just 
don't appreciate hip-hop" cannot get around.

I like rap--the old stuff, like NWA, The Last Poets, etc. I like Nat 
"King" Cole--by himself. I like classic Death Metal--not the 
monotonous and pointless crap from the last ten years. But this 
sounds like it REALLY sucks.
