tr-606 mods

Well, first thing you gotta know about the 606: There are NO samples! All analogue! Which means you can really do some wild stuff with the unit once you get to messing around in there!

First, I would say do the Waterstone mod for the Kick and run the triggering of the sweep transistor off of the kik drum trigger input. Then, mess around with some of the values for the sweep since the way they are written its not much fun.

Then, you can do a few other things too, like putting in a pot that will turn the closed hihat into a the open hihat and the open into a closed and be able to adjust the decay of the hihats, toms, etc.. Just email me privately and I will send you my notes for mods on the beast.

I just bought an old tr-606. I also own a Jomox Xbase-09. So after plugging the 606 in I was highly dissapointed with the kick drum and samples. Is there a Mod that will give me kick drum decay and tune capabilities. Or do you reccoment a third part Mod Kit. I am more or less looking for a 808 kick. Any info would be Great!

  Thanks
