Hi all,

Jim> A sine wave is more like icing on the cake. It is nice to have,
but, not really all that useful.

Yes, it is.

Ring modulation and various other frequency modulation is more refined
with sine waves. Other waves can get a little messy sounding, even
triangle. Sub octave generation is a must with a sine wave. Tune your
second VCO to an octave below your main VCO. Try it with sine, saw and
square. You will probably like the sine better. The second harmonic of a
square wave really grates with the main tone. And lastly, try modulating
pulse width width with a triangle and then a sine. The latter much
smoother... owing to the rate of change of the modulating signal.

My only regret is that I didn't get into sines sooner. Thanks to Steve
Ridley for pointing me in the right direction.
