Look at the PS requirements for the synthdrum circuit:

You need +10~15V for that, which is probably the same basic circuit. 
Just hook the Vcc terminal to to a supply in that range you'll be all 
set.

Might have to clamp that with some diodes or you could fry something 
if you whack it really hard. Didn't we have a discussion about this a 
while back? Please don't make me search for it!

MIDI/trigger would work nice, too.
