super jx aftertouch question

The Alpha junos and the JX's aftertouch usually turns into "elephant touch".
Either the aftertouch connection has come lose or the strip has gone bad
which happens alot.
The aftertouch strip comes out of the keyboard on the left side of the
keyboard. I was quoted $40
for an aftertouch strip for my juno-2. I don't know what kind of labor
is involved in installing it.
Why no just use your other keyboard? I use my K-5000 for everything.
