sounds to me like intermittent joints/board cracks.. this sort of thing
happens to people's gear when they play lots of gigs.. bouncing around in
the car wobbles all the parts slightly, so then the solder eventually
fatigues and cracks, or sometimes the board does too.. also can happen with
repetitve hitting with a stick.. I'd suggest getting a torch and shine thru
the board, look for cracks.. if no cracks, the resolder the joints and this
should fix it..
