Drum Kat EZ problem

I have a Drum Kat EZ that has learned the trick of
putting itself in program mode when beaten with
sticks (ie. normal operation)  It IS intermittent.

I have replaced the 4051 mux, all resistors / caps
associated with the programming footswitch input.

Does anyone know if there was any software bugs etc.
with this unit ?  It did not exhibit this behavior
when new, so I'm thinking hardware... but when you hit it
hard and fast it goes off into the blue...

Help ???
