I'm on a week's worth of vacation so I started some DIY.
Finished a new hard sync mod for the FatMan. Instead
of injecting a pulse to the integration cap of the VCO,
I took advantage of the 555's reset input. Through a
switch I simply routed the VCO2 555 pin 3 (output pulse)
to the VCO1 555 pin 4 (reset input) and voila. I believe
that this is true hard sync. My other method was a form
of soft sync.
The new mod is on http://www.teklab.com/~chordman
It's under "simple circuits", FatMan New Hard Sync.
I verified the waveform using my new oscope and then of
course, I start playing around. I put probes on the
filter input and output, trigger from filter input and
observed the cool things that happen. rez at max, play
with cutoff, while listening, of course.
