Hey all:

Guitar Center has theG-VOX system on sale for $39.99 (USA) until July 31.

If you do not have a Hex Humbucking pickup you are missing a boat here...
The nearest competitive pickup is about $200. You can buy the WHOLE
G-Vox system, take the pickup, and re-cycle the rest.

I'm working on a Hex Fuzz system for the guitar. I'll be making boards as
soon as
the single channel prototype is complete. If anyone is interested I'll make
extra and you can buy some from me. I'm thinking of making one board per
string, so that those who do
not want hex fuzz can build a single voltage controlled fuzz unit.

Features will include
*Preamp
*Input Filter (remove high string harmonics)
*VC "Drive" stage
*Clipping Stage
*Abs. Value stage (so that 'shit happens' on the very first half cycle)
*Peak (envelope) follower
*Stop detector (so that the sound stops right away if you mute/stop the
strings)
*Note detector (retrigger at the start of each picked note)
*Stop override (allow full natural decay)
*VC Waveform (tone... can be dynamic if you like)

still working on:
VC Attack Delay : Makes no sense (to me) to have just a lag processor. The
natural decay of the guitar is the limiting factor in decay time anyway.
VCF envelope amount
VCF envelope invert (like Mutron III)
LFO's

VCF... I have not chosen the design yet. Any favorites ?? I'm leaning to a
State Variable
so that the HPF, BPF, LPF responces are available. Or do you like that
Oberheim
Xpander type filter (15 responces) ? Maybe a tranny or diode ladder ?? (I
have tried the
MS-20 clone filter, I didn't like it, but you might....) Maybe you want to
use your own
filter choice.
Comments welcome. What did I forget here ???

This project will not be for the faint hearted, its a six channel polyphonic
effect unit. I'm probably crazy and should buy six commercial processors...
NAW that wouldn't be
DIY now would it???

Not included on this board set, I'm also working on cloning my low-note
priority bass generator. Those at AHMW2000 saw this unit in true (kludge)
form. Its been working
in on from or another for 20 years, so I guess its solid.... I'm including
the hooks to drive
this unit in each channel (preamp, filter, note detect, etc...)

H^) harry

But buy the pickup NOW ferchrissake!!!
