I was under the impression you just fed it ASCII from the serial port and it talked. Is that correct? I was thinking it had to be more than just that in order to be able to control the characteristics of the voice. If there are PC drivers, that would be a big help to me, since right now the only software I have for it is on a 9-track tape, and is designed to run it under RSX-11 on my PDP-11.

It works like a serial print spooler. The best thing to do is get a set
of current drivers. These initialize the unit the best way way
(although there are others). You can use readme files to give you
programming hints or you can go one step further and get a screen
reading program like Vocal Eyes. Tiny Talk is a shareware screen reader.
They work easily under DOS, Linux and the non isa units work with Mac
and everything else.

I eventually will add an interface to one of these to my modular I have
been looking at my EML 101 controller and ideas are surfacing The
thing I like the best is the keypad with the voltage pot connected .
