I modified my friend's 909 to output din sync instead of receiving it, using
my own sync chip.
If you can get someone to program a PIC for you, you can get source code for
my midi to sync 24 convertor from http://www.octavo.demon.co.uk/colinf
If you can't program your own, I can sell you one.
I use a single 8 pin IC (PIC12c508), without the need for an external
crystal.
I can also easily alter the code for my chip to accept a direct input from
the 909 midi output line, leaving out the opto-isolator.
Total parts count in this case is 1 IC, 3 resistors and 1 capacitor.
