Hi Michael n All !

That Roland unit you mention could be the VP70 .  Did experiment with 
one several years ago .  Did follow voice and other instruments, did 
Midi conversion, and some more, good fun .  But fairly grungy and far 
from perfect, and (as with most guitar-midi conv's too) with this 
type of unit it is easy to "over-estimate" the actual performance .  
But that's what marketing departments are all about (still looking 
for that ZX81 run power station ;-) ) .

Test extensively in your own setup with your own music before buying 
to avoid disappointment :)
