uP Solution!

Thanks all for the input on chosing a uP for a Midi Knob project especially
BatZ! I found a super solution.. the Atmel AVR 8bit Risc Microcontrollers

- a developers board is available for about $60US (STK-200)
- windows software is included
- unit interfaces to PC via parallel port and new code can be flashed
instantly when developing
- LCD display interfacing is like lego
- A/D inputs are available (8 on Mega Developers board)
- lots of i/o lines
- Importantly, there are 3rd party  Visual Basic compiler/assemblers as well
as a C versions so I can continue using VB rather than having to learn C.
