If you use a phase shifter and take the output from the phase delay line without summing the original signal you will get a simple vibrato. The same can be done with a short delay. ARRGHH I have to say it !!! BBD (bucket brigade delay) or digital delay.

The phaser is easier and might be quieter (surely quieter than the BBD...)
