If you're interested in developing code for a uP that uses external ROM, I
found a bit of a bargain the other day.
Maplin are selling a 64K EPROM emulator for 58 ukp.

The last catalogue lists the price at 150ukp, but the price on the website
is 58ukp.
Don't know if it's an error, or just a bargain price drop, but I've got mine
;-)

It's a non-volatile flash EPROM, with a flylead that connects to your PC
parallel port, and a probe to connect to the reset line of the target
processor to force a reset while the ROM is downloaded.
It emulates 2764, 27128, 27256 and 27512.
